According to the canon 18-135mm review, this is the latest addition by Canon to the EF-S lenses line. These lenses are compatible with APS-C sensor DSLRs such as EOS Rebel. Unlike other lenses that have a distance scale, the Canon 18-135 is equipped with a DC micro motor that helps in focusing.
Canon 18-135 Reviews with its Pros and Cons
Despite the dazzling features highlighted on this canon 18-135mm lens review, some camera experts are not amused by the widespread use of plastics in its build. The mount of this lens is, however, metallic. The zooming range of 18 to 135mm extends the lens’s length by an impressive 39mm i.e. from 101mm to 140mm. This lens has several aberrations such as chromatic aberration, barrel distortion and vignetting. Fortunately, these issues are solved using the Canon’s DPP software.
Two of the most noticeable cons of this lens from Canon are the focusing noise and the lack of full time manual focusing ability. These two cons have been blamed on the lack of a USM ring motor on the 18-135. Manual focus for this Canon lens is achieved by moving the focusing switch to the MF position and then controlling the actual focusing through a ring that is found on the lens’s front part. A canon 18-135 lens review would obviously point this out. A small rotation of the ring results in a clear shift between the far and near focus positions, which is a clear indication of a poorly damped manual focusing control.
A polarizing filter is easier to use with the Canon 18-135 due to its front element that resists rotating during either focusing or zooming. This lens uses the 67mm filter. Some of the most critical accessories of the Canon 18-135 include the case and the lens hood both of which are unfortunately not supplied with it. However, both are available from third party stockists as well as Canon itself.
According to canon 18-135 review, alternatives for this lens include lenses that have similar performance and build characteristics such as the EF-S and the EF range of lenses.

Product Summary
Canon's new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens is the perfect Image Stabilized lens for advanced photographers looking for a wide-angle zoom lens with telephoto capabilities. Featuring a compact IS unit with shake correction up to four shutter speed steps, the zoom range of this lens is equivalent to 29-216mm on a full-frame camera.
This is considered the standard lens for use with Canon SLR cameras
The EF 50mm f/1.2L USM is a peerless new standard lens featuring an ultra-large aperture for a narrow depth of field and soft background blur so loved by photographers everywhere. The EF 50mm f/1.2L USM is suitable for any shooting situation; its lens coating and construction are optimized to minimize the ghosting and flare that frequently occurs when lenses are used with digital cameras. This high-performance, weather-resistant lens delivers all the superb image resolution and contrast you expect in a Canon L Series Lens.
This telephoto zoom lens is designed with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology while retaining compactness and lightness, in response to demands of photographers. This high zoom ratio lens is equivalent to a focal length of 88-400mm in the 35mm format (when used on Canon EOS cameras compatible with EF-S lenses), and the image stabilizer effect equivalent to a shutter speed about 4 stops faster than the same size lens without Image Stabilizer. In other words, if the slowest shutter speed you could formerly hold a 250mm lens steadily was 1/250th of a second, with Canon's 4-stop stabilization correction, you could hand-hold at shutter speeds as slow as 1/15th of a second. It also uses a UD-glass lens element to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. This new EF-S telephoto lens with great features delivers excellent performance at an affordable price for all photographers.
L2) CANON 70-300MM F/4-5.6 IS USM LE

Product Summary
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens.
Improving upon one of the most celebrated lenses in the Canon EF line is no easy feat, but Canon has done just that. The all-new EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM increases the speed, performance and optical quality of the EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM while maintaining all of the characteristics that have made it a legend for professionals and advanced amateurs alike. The EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM features one fluorite and five UD elements for increased optical quality and reduced chromatic aberration. It has a minimum focusing distance of 1.2m/3.9 ft. at all zoom settings, which is useful for photographers in smaller spaces trying to get closer to a subject. It features a next-generation Optical Image Stabilizer, providing up to 4 stops of correction at all focal lengths. And as with all L-series lenses, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is dust- and moisture-resistant and designed for use in the challenging environments typical of rigorous professional use.
Camera Lens, Canon, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Zoom Lens, 2562A002
The L-series is Canon's flagship professional lens range, designed to include outstanding image performance, ultimate operability and weather resistance. The EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM offers a lightweight alternative to the renowned EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM. offers the highest possible optical quality with no change in aperture over the full focal range of the lens. This allows photographers to set exposure at the widest aperture and zoom all the way through to 105mm without having to vary the shutter speed. Image Stabilizer (IS) dramatically reduces image blur caused by camera shake. Gyro sensors detect unwanted vibrations, triggering the corresponding movement of a correcting lens group perpendicular to the optical axis. This alters the light path, returning the image to its correct position on the sensor or film plane. The 3 stop advantage means that photographers normally shooting a 105mm lens handheld at 1/125 sec can obtain a shake free result with a shutter speed as low as 1/15 sec, for vastly extended options in low light conditions. The ring-type USM motor found in the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM employs ultra-sonic frequency vibrations to drive auto focus with unrivalled speed and near-silent operation. A powerful CPU and improved AF algorithm contribute to speed performance. Good holding torque stops the lens with precision and accuracy, the instant it arrives at the correct focus point and without overshoot. Photographers can choose manual focus instantly and at any time simply by moving the manual focus ring without first having to switch out of auto focus mode. Circular aperture producing attractive background defocus Inner focusing, ring USM and new AF algorithms for fast and quiet autofocusing Manual focusing enabled even during AF mode (full-time mechanical manual focus) Only environmentally friendly lead-free glass used in lens construction Filter diameter 77 mm / Dimensions (dia x len)
The Canon EF 24-70mm standard zoom lens does what many pros thought couldn't be done--it replaces the L-series 28-70mm f/2.8 lens with something even better. The lens offers extended coverage to an ultra-wide-angle 24mm, making it ideal for digital as well as film shooters. The new processing unit, meanwhile, makes the autofocus (AF) faster than ever. And thanks to the two aspherical elements and a totally new UD glass element, the optics are far superior to the earlier lens. Sealed and gasketed against dust and moisture, the EF 24-70mm lens carries a one-year warranty.
